There was that first year when an entire army of us converged on the park.
Then there was the year of the RC cars.
Followed by the very very sad Condiment-less Picnic of 2012.
Which brings us to Year Four. This will forever be known as the year we all froze. Spring and Summer were still locked in a bitter struggle and I am sad to say, Summer was getting her butt whooped.
But the picnic must go on, right? So we donned our sweatshirts and made the most of it.
Eventually we wandered down to the water. The kids turned disturbing shades of blue and their teeth chattered away but they all seemed oblivious, perfectly content to dig and splash and practice their Baywatch-beach-running-moves.
The adults (and Henry) stayed safely on the beach.

The fellas rocked their beach attire, boots and all...
It isn't ocean sand, but it will do. For now.
If the criteria for a great picnic is good friends, laughter, and ketchup... then this one gets two thumbs up.
