First Place x 2!!

Our school recently held a Reading Fair. The students created projects highlighting the plot, characters, setting, etc. of their favorite stories and then the projects were judged by grade. The Sidelinger girls scored two first place ribbons!

Lilly's book: Mr. Putter and Tabby Paint the Porch

Mr. Putter and Tabby are regulars in our house. Mr. Putter even has a resident namesake, so it seemed only natural that Lilly picked one of  their adventures for her report. Her favorite part of this project was splattering the paint. She did every illustration and printed every word herself.

I particularly like the fact that Mr. Putter looks like a combination of Grandpa and Papa.

Janelle's book: Rush Revere and the American Revolution

Of course our resident historian picked a book about history. Epic battles? Famous patriots? A time-traveling horse named Liberty? Obviously it's going to be her favorite.

She had some very specific, ambitious design ideas that resulted in a few logistical conferences with Dad, but in the end they pulled it off. (That's Liberty shooting through the Time Vortex, just in case you were wondering.)

Their hard work was rewarded with coupons to Wendy's. They each get a Frosty and a chicken nugget meal and this Mama doesn't have to cook.

Everyone wins.
