Double Digits

You eat, breathe, sleep gymnastics.

You hate math.

You love Kenya. And Ethiopia. And Mexico. And Haiti. And pretty much any other country you learn about. You want to fix the world.

You are the smallest kid in your class.

You read the Spanish-English dictionary for fun.

You are not a fan of dresses. Lace and crinoline are especially off limits.

You know more geography than most adults.

You can do a handstand pretty much anywhere.

You are obsessed with Native Americans and can proudly rattle off a few Cherokee words.

You hate disappointing people.

You can finally do your own pony tails.

Double digits looks a lot like 9 but then why does this one feel so different? You are 10 and the years are flying.

Happy birthday. Nelly.
