Anybody have a spatula?

Lilly may be our sweet, carefree, happy Pickle but last night at around 2:30 AM she was in danger of being sold on Ebay. Lilly's nighttime sleep progress seems to be a consistent pattern of two steps forward, one step back. Lately, however, it feels like we took a flying leap backwards instead of a step...and then we fell on our butts.

Lilly has always been a wild sleeper, just like her daddy. She thrashes and wiggles and tosses and turns and ends up in odd angles in her crib leaving us wondering how in the world she managed to get into that position. It's as if she nightly dreams of wrestling matches and swimming lessons. The real trouble began when she learned to roll over... the key being she has yet to learn to roll back. In her wild sleeping she now rolls onto her belly and then wakes up furious because she does not want to sleep there (and she is too little for belly-sleeping anyway because of SIDS). Our nights now consist of stumbling half-awake into Lilly's room and flipping her onto her back every 45-60 minutes. Last night the 3 of us were all so exhausted we let her sleep in her carseat where she slept without incident from 2:30 - 7:30 AM. I guess it's pretty hard to flip onto your belly in a carseat.

Our rigorous belly-time training program has yet to yield results so it looks like we will be spending some more nights Pickle Flipping. (Which kind of sounds like some bizarre redneck pastime, like cow-tipping or tobacco-spitting. Or a more delicate way to curse ... "Flipping Pickles!!") Or maybe I'll have Andy build a complicated Rube Goldberg device that begins with us dropping a marble into a bucket on the nightstand and ends with a giant spatula flipping Lilly for us. Anybody have a spatula?
