Team Effort
Last August we were struck with a flash of brilliance that could possibly double as idiocy. (This happens to us from time to time.) What if we ran the 7,155 miles over to Ethiopia? Sure! Why not? Sign us up. So we cajoled 18 other friends and relatives from all over the country to tag along with us. We hiked over the Appalachian Mountains, swam the Atlantic, trudged across the Sahara to the Ethiopian highlands and Addis Ababa.
(Figuratively, of course.)
It took the 20 of us 14 months to cover the 7,155 miles to Ethiopia.
Virtual high fives/chest bumps/bear hugs to:
Team Rampock, Team Novakalicious,The Mamas and the Papas, Baby Cakes, SherryD & BethiG, Newk, Hot Cheeks, Ki Ki, The Big E, Stan, Barbie, The Hayster, Senor and Mrs. Senor.
(Those may or may not be their real names.)
These guys stuck with us for 14 long months, logging in mileage on sunny days and days when normal people hid under blankets with a cup of coffee. You all rock. Without you, we'd still be drowning somewhere in the Atlantic.
Through sponsorships that each of them raised, we have another $1,662 added to the adoption fund. The Lord continues to supply. We only have about $5,000 left to reach our goal of $32,000.
Anyone want to start running home?
